FACE

Round 1: With (A) make magic ring, ch 1, 10 sc in ring (do NOT tighten), place marker in 1st, move up as worked, do NOT join—10 sc.

Round 2: Working in continuous rounds here and throughout, 2 sc in each around—20 sc.

Round 3: Sc in each around.

* At this point I like to place the “flame” of the candle into the center hole and adjust making sure it fits snugly then I secure and weave in the center yarn tail.

Rounds 4-7: Repeat Round 3.

Round 8 (optional): Repeat Round 3 if needed to fit tealight.

Fasten off, leaving long enough tail for sewing.

EARS (Make 2)

With (A) chain 5, half double crochet in 4th chain from hook, single crochet in last chain, finish off.

ANTLERS (Make 2)

With (B) ch 7, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in next 2. Ch 3, sl st in 2nd ch from hook you just made, now sl st in last 3 of original chain, finish off.

ASSEMBLY

Now sew the ears and antlers to the top of the face between rounds 4 and 5, about 3 stitches apart. Loop a piece of yarn or ribbon through top for hanger, secure.

Color the flame of the tealight with the red permanent ink marker and let it dry a few minutes. Insert tea light in center of magic ring, weave the last round yarn tail around last round, tightening to fit snugly around base of tea light, make sure on/off button is still operational. Weave in all ends.

Using photo as a guide, glue on wiggle eyes, add mouth using red 3D paint. Allow to dry.
