Gauge

In sc with C 2 / 2.75 mm hook and cotton yarn

Notes

The pencil cup and round trinkets box are worked in a continuous circle What that means is that you won’t join the beginning and end of each round.  Rather you will continue around, making the first st of each round in the first st of the previous round. To keep track, I use a locking stitch marker to mark the end of each row.

Finishing

To give your set more stability and keep its shape use a fabric stiffener. I used a purchased stiffener, if you prefer to make your own from white glue and water, that works just as well. Soak the yarn in the stiffener or apply with a paint brush until well saturated without being dripping wet. Use some type of form to keep its shape and size while drying. Before I soaked the yarn, I cut plastic canvas and secured it in the proper shape as a form for each piece. It has holes to let the air flow for better drying and the plastic won’t stick to the stiffener as much for easy removal of the mold. Then I placed it in a dry space and let it air dry. Cotton yarn can take up to 2-3 days to completely dry.

May Your stitch count be true and your frogs be few!
